Dinner with the bushmen
Have you ever had a dinner invitation by a small village in a remote area at the border of the Kalahari? Well I did, and it has been an incredible experience! I'm blessed I could share thes moments with these people. Would you take a stranger to dinner at home, without knowing him?
What you see in the pot is boiled Kudu meat. The fair sharing of food among all families of the village is quite a time intensive ceremony. It took about one hour to fill all the pots and dishes with the adequate portion of meat and rice. All village was gathered around the fire. Men and women where chatting using their distinctive language rich of click-sounds, while all children were watching silently at the food. Noone ever tried to get something before his turn. Patience seems to be one of the greatest vitues of the San Bushmen.
